Baptism

Baptism is the next step after salvation. Through baptism, you are able to make a public display of your faith to the world.

About Baptism

Jesus was baptized during his time on this earth, and we follow His example by doing the same. When followers of Jesus are baptized, they are submerged under water as a symbolic step to represent the death and burial of Jesus. When they are raised out of the water, it represents His resurrection.

At Elevation Point Church, we believe that water baptism is a public symbol of three important things: you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you are beginning a changed life in Christ, and you are part of a new family.

Still Have Questions?

Why Should I Be Baptized?

Jesus instructs us to be baptized and set the example by being baptized (Matthew 28:19-20Mark 1:9). Because of Jesus’ public sacrifice of love for us, we can go public about our love for Him.

When Should I Be Baptized?

For anyone who decides to follow Jesus, baptism is always the next step. Anyone who commits his or her life to following Jesus is ready to be baptized (Acts 8:12).

Should I Be Baptized Again?

If you have been baptized before but it did not signify you becoming a follower of Jesus, beginning life-change, or unity with a new family; you should be baptized again.

Do You Baptize Children?

We will baptize anyone over age 7 who understands what baptism symbolizes and wants to make that personal public declaration. As parents, we can help point our children to Jesus, but they are the ones to decide if they will commit their lives to Him (Romans 10:9).
